Our thoughts are with the Royal Family.

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We offer our condolences to the Royal Family.

Having spoken with our residents, team members and a number of visitors regarding our fete tomorrow, whilst we know of mixed opinions we wish to be respectful to all and have a significant number of our community wishing to continue. The government have also released guidance to say there is no obligation to cancel or postpone events and sporting fixtures, or close entertainment venues during the National Mourning period. We have therefore taken the decision to continue  tomorrow and use the fete to commemorate the wonderful and inspirational life and service of Her Majesty. We will mark Her Majesty’s passing with moments of reflection throughout the day as well a period of silence at 14:00. There will be a book of condolence available also. We support our residence with independence and choice so only those wishing to come down will be supported in doing so.

We look to Her Majesty’s life and see her steadfast service in challenging times and learn to continue in tough times. We consider the last 2 years of the pandemic and how  important time and meaningful moments with friends and family are and believe that time together is what our Close family are requesting.

Long live the king
